Week 4: Getting Used to Change

The older I get the more difficult it is to deal with change, but that is life. This week began with a very sore, pollen induced sore throat, a new running plan  from my new running coach-which includes a new method of record keeping and communicating; the official start of working with a new strength and conditioning coach-so a new routine, a new person, a new relationship, and new body part soreness.

All of this, in addition to work deadlines looming, family members needing extra TLC and support with health and childcare issues, and temperatures in the 90’s with humidity, made for a very stressful week.

This week I am working on being patient, and perservering.  I will be running the Market Square 10k tomorrow, as a baseline for training for Beach to Beacon 10k in August. My training week has not been exactly what my running coach prescribed, but I am trying to be okay with that. We are all getting to know each other-and learning as we go.

So here’s to a positive Friday, another training session, and a positive race tomorrow.

Slow and steady wins the race.
