The journey of  a thousand miles

My name is Cathy and my passion is learning. I am an educator, a New England sports enthusiast, a reader, a writier, a golfer, a runner, a grandma and lover of all things technology.

My journey toward fitness took a turn for the serious about 7 years ago when I decided I no longer wanted to accept the commonly accepted signs of getting older: aches and pains, joint stiffness, lack of endurance, and weight gain. I decided to take control of my body and my mind. I found a new chiropractor, hired a personal trainer, and never looked back.

About 4 years ago I began to take my workouts more seriously and decided I was working way too hard not to be in better physical shape. By that I mean, I was ready to get serious about ramping up my workouts, eating better, and losing weight in order to improve my running and my golf game.

I am in better physical shape than I have ever been in my entire life. I know it sounds cliche, but life is a journey. This is my attempt at sharing a bit of my journey toward accomplishing my goals peacefully by living in the moment. I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. I love everything you are saying! I feel like you are writing how I feel. I’m in my fifties, I run and work out with weights and care about what I eat. Looking forward to your next post!

      Thanks for commenting!It is definitely a journey; I am not sure if it is because I have more time to reflect on how I’m living my life, or if it is a normal part of life, but I am enjoying the learning that goes along with it.
